I am coming to the end of my second week of teaching. Those teachers wondering how online teaching is going to look like this year, here are a few observations I made while teaching virtually these last few days!
. Its a year of digital books and videos for sure. I am thankful to those uploading clear audible read aloud and other videos on YouTube. Truly a blessing!
. Its a year of teaching with singing songs and actions. Teachers especially like myself will definitely become better singers and also learn a few kick-ass moves as we shake our butt with our kiddos 😀 Those wondering what I am talking about, refer to Jack Hartmann's videos, my kiddos love him!
. Its a year of never ending greetings, not sure if your ears would get used to this but you will have students screaming ’Good morning miss’, 'Bye miss', 'Good night miss' like endless no. of times for the first 10 mins and last 10 mins of class where students refuse to leave you and exit the lesson. Every student repeating it at- least 4 to 5 times or more just to prove to whose greeting their teacher responds to first. That is super cute don’t you think🤓
. Thinking about resources what to buy or not! I was crazy confused until I actually started teaching. I am glad I waited. Let me advise you that it would be very useful to have a white board and marker handy. Its definitely my best friend and a must as it can be used in multiple ways . Again something you can take a call once you start teaching. Alternatively, if you have an Apple iPad and a pencil like myself then you are fine too. However, with network and other technical issues, a whiteboard is THE most important resource one must invest in. Rest is secondary.
I hope you find this article useful!
Looking forward on reading more on this as it goes forward
